How to Beat PPC – Pay Per Click – Using Long Tail Keywords

How to Beat PPC – Pay Per Click – Using Long Tail Keywords

After many years of marketing on the internet, I have come to realize that the most productive marketing strategy is PPC advertising. Adwords Pay Per Click however has it’s drawbacks. If you are new marketer with very little knowledge of keywords, you stand the chance of losing a lot of money. It is quite a challenge trying to compete for same keywords with the more experience marketers who have the money to outbid their competitors. That is the reason I recommend expanding your horizons by using long tail keywords for better results with PPC.

Long tail keywords are hidden treasures that many home business entrepreneurs often overlook. A long tail keyword is a key word phrase as opposed to one single word. Instead of using a keyword like “traffic”, you can use a long tail keyword such as “how to generate traffic”. Long tail keywords are very effective because not all people simply search for a single word, in fact more often than not most internet searches will be a multiple word search.

Locating popular long tail keyword phrase to use in your PPC Advertising campaign can be found by using keyword tools such as Google Adword Keyword Tool or SEO Book. Using these tools will help in calculating the volume of competitors currently utilizing a current keyword. You will also be able to find out how many searches per month each keyword phrase generates. In addition the keyword tools will help you beat PPC advertising cost by suggesting several keyword phrases to enhance your campaign.

Using long tail keyword not only help me to beat the cost of PPC advertising but it also help me to get front page placement with my blogs and articles. Long tail keywords has been responsible for turning my PPC campaigns into an online money making machine. Before you give up on using Pay Per Click advertising I suggest you consider using long tail keywords in your campaign.

Social Bookmarking Sites – Why Using Them to Build Backlinks

Social Bookmarking Sites – Why Using Them to Build Backlinks

If you haven’t been using social bookmarking sites like, Digg.com and Digg-like sites, to generate traffic you are missing out on a large consumer potential. As the net becomes more interactive and users gain more decisiveness on what is and isn’t “quality content,” Digg-like sites continue to pop up to serve virtually every known online niche.

Digg is still a leading website when it comes to user generated and voted content. However, the site still does not cater to every niche. It is mostly a playground for techies and gadget geeks which leave those who write for other niches off the front page, and in some cases, off the website in general. Thus, more and more people are starting Digg-style sites that are niche specific.

These sites do pretty much the same thing that most social bookmarking sites do, which is to help people get their social news, while helping authors get their work exposed.

For Emarketing related content people are finding places like PlugIM.com and MarkTD.com are sending them more traffic than Digg ever has. Many websites, including Digg, are anti marketing which means that small business related topics rarely make it to the front page. However, finding and using a Digg-like site that pertains to your niche can greatly increase your traffic.

Some of theses sites offer a Digg It button to place on your site and if so, use it. The easy way for publishers to hasten their entry into the Digg and Digg-like ecosystem is to add this button or link to pages on their sites.

Surprisingly, considering the importance of social bookmarking, few publishers have done this. Having a Digg It button on your website encourages user participation, which increases your article exposure, traffic, and, ultimately, your sales.

Before publishing on Digg, look for “vertical” Digg-style sites to publish on because you will most likely receive more traffic from these sites because, even though they are much smaller, they are more closely related to your niche.

There are several lists online that you can use to find Digg-like sites that work for you. Simply Google your niche and the terms “Digg-like”, “Digg-style” or “Digg clones.”

Keep in mind however, that these are all communities that you have to be active in to gain the real benefits. That means submitting content frequently, voting early and voting often. Many webmasters admit to getting traffic from leaving comments on other users’ content almost as much as they get traffic from their own content.

As it gets harder and harder to reach Digg’s front page, people will be looking elsewhere for their social news. Web masters should consider trying all the Digg-like sites out there that relate to their niche to see what does well for your site’s content. And if worse comes to worse and you can’t find your niche in any category create your own Digg-clone.

I highly recommend you do, but, that’s just me.If you do decide to build one, make sure you give your subscribers and/or readers options.http://www.bookmarkingdemon.biz/rss_feed.htmlNow, for those of you who aren’t quite up to speed on what RSS is, here’s a quick definition for you:RSS is an acronym for “Really Simple Syndication” or “Rich Site Summary”, and the XML extension is the format used for distributing your news headlines via the Web, which is known as Syndication.Syndication is where the TRUE power of RSS is unleashed, getting your message across the web in an Instant to your subscribers and/or readers. That’s the basics of RSS(Real Simple Syndication). Now, for the rest of this article I want to focus on the “10 MOST Powerful Reasons WHY You Should Be Using It”.So, with that said, let’s go to reason #1.Reason #1. How Using A Social Bookmarking Service Will Boost Business

How Using A Social Bookmarking Service Will Boost Business

Although it would be nice if we could take care of every aspect of our Internet business ourselves, it is often necessary for us to employ a variety of different services in order to get everything done. One way in which this is especially important is in doing things that will get our new website listed in the search engines and ranking fairly quickly. The Internet is full of different ways that we are able to do this but one of the most popular at this particular time is social bookmarking.

Social bookmarking has really only come about in the past several years and it is a way for you to interactively share your bookmarks and have them online so that they are easily accessible from any computer. It also provides a unique opportunity for us, as Internet marketers to be able to attract the attention of the search engines to our new websites. Unfortunately, posting our pages on the social bookmarking networks is quite time consuming and cuts into our ability to take care of more important things. That is why employing the use of a social bookmarking service is going to help you to make sure that all of this is done in a timely manner.

There are several different things that you should look at when it comes to a social bookmarking service. First of all, you need to make sure that they are going to automate every step of the process for you and take care of everything, from the initial sign up to the posting of the individual pages. They should also be willing to change with the times and to keep up with any new social bookmarking websites that pop onto the scene. Finally, they should be willing to vary the link text and tags that they are going to use on the individual bookmarking websites. This will help you to rank for as many keywords as possible and to avoid any penalties that may come your way from something that appears to be spam.

Hiring a social bookmarking service is one of the best things that you can do to ensure that your new pages are listed quickly. It can also help you to let go of something that is better taken care of by somebody else and not micromanage every part of your business. It is simply one more rung in the ladder to your success.

How Using A Social Bookmarking Tool Can Blow Up Your Traffic

Get Traffic For Your Blog , Using Social Bookmarking Sites

Get Traffic For Your Blog , Using Social Bookmarking Sites

Whether your blog is a space for political discussion or a gathering place for people who raise beta fish, you’ve already realized that the more traffic you can generate, the better! Not only will your blog have an active community, but if you have pay per click advertising on your blog, every visitor is a bit of extra cash in your pocket. There are many ways to generate traffic to your site, and it is just a matter of finding one that suits your site and your personal style.

One innovative way to get the clicks where you want them is take part in a social bookmarking site. If you have not yet heard of the phenomenon, there are sites where you can store your list of bookmarks online. This is convenient for the person who’s always hopping from computer to computer; you’ll always have all the information you need at your very fingertips. Even better, you can make your bookmarks public; you can share things like your favorite news sites, or your top ten favorite webcomics. The big advantage to this sort of service comes when you realize that you are an expert. Make a list of bookmarks that feature other sites that are like yours and make it public.

Social bookmarking sites work because of the selection involved. As more people become wise to the concept of search engine optimization, they are a lot more wary of the first ten hits that come up when they check Google or Yahoo. Social bookmarking works because it has the endorsement of another real person. A real community can spring up around the idea of social bookmarking and it becomes a network of people who are trading information. With the right list of bookmarks made public, it will take a very small amount of time before your blog will be getting more hits than ever before.

To get started with social bookmarking, there are a number of sites that you can go to. http://www.technorati.com/ is one of the first sites to take advantage of this phenomenon and the interface is quite usable. You’ll find more technical bookmarked lists here, which is ideal if you have a blog on computers, televisions, or general gadgetry. At http://www.stumbleupon.com/ you will find a more social atmosphere, and there is more of a focus on entertainment. If you have a blog on the latest celebrity doings or even of your photography, this might be the place for you. Though it might look less polished than the other two, http://del.icio.us/ packs a lot punch with a history that goes back almost five years. Del.icio.us is a wonderful place for almost anything you might want to find and more and more people are using it to find the information they need.

This is also a good way to find out how people are coming to your blog. What searches are they using to get there? Once you can pinpoint that, you can can tailor your blog to meet the demand and receive more traffic as well. Many blogs also offer subscriptions, which will tell readers when you have updated, and in this way, with a list of readers at your disposal, you can play your content to an audience that you know better.

Social bookmarking is a trend that any blogger who wants more traffic to his site should take advantage of and with sites like Technorati, Stumbleupon and Del.icio.us, you have many avenues waiting for your personal touch.

New Web Marketing: Using Social Bookmarking for Your Web Biz

New Web Marketing: Using Social Bookmarking for Your Web Biz

When thinking about web marketing strategies for a web biz, most people think about Google Adwords, Online Classified Ads, and article marketing.

Although they happen to be powerful tools, many people overlook the potential marketing power in using social bookmarking as a web biz marketing strategy.

Most of this is due to the fact that very few people know how to use social bookmarking effectively. We may hear about Digg or Del.i.cious, but most of us don’t know how to use them effectively.

What is it?

In a nutshell, social bookmarking is a web-based technology that allows people, all over the internet, to share and rate internet content.

Social bookmarking ranks content by the rank given to the content by the people who read it. Traditional search engines, on the other hand, ranking system is based on the number of inbound links. In other words, the more highly your content is rated, the better.

Social Bookmarking For Your Web Biz

1. Register with a social bookmarking site. Digg, StumbleUpon, & Technorati are examples of popular social bookmarking sites.

2. Download the software. This usually a browser toolbar of some sort.

3. Submit & rank your website(s).

4. Add friends & rank/review other sites. Most critical, and probably most overlooked, step in the process.

Don’t make the mistake of just submitting your website because you get more bang for your buck if you rank and review a lot of content. In other words, the more you use social bookmarking, the better it will be for your web biz.

After all, the goal is to increase your website’s visibility and possibly gain more traffic in the process.

Some Words of Advice

Although social bookmarking has the power to drastically improve your web biz site’s traffic, it can also be used against you if you don’t heed to the following warning.

*Do NOT submit crappy content!! Spam and plagiarized, irrelevant content are all examples of “crappy” content.

Words of Advice

1. Submit quality content. Don’t copy other people’s content. Don’t ramble. It’s critical that you stay on topic and relevant. Why put yourself at risk for a low rating or review?

2. Play nice and be mindful of the kind of image your displaying on the web. It all will come back to you, either in a positive or in a negative light.

3. Be purposeful about the actions you take when it comes to promoting your web biz. Don’t just rank or review content aimlessly. Stay in your niche. That’s how you will attract targeted traffic.

Bookmark away, children!!!

How Using Directories Can Get You More Targeted Website Traffic

How Using Directories Can Get You More Targeted Website Traffic

You have a lot of options as far as methods to drive traffic to your website is concerned; one method which has been in use for some time now is submitting links of your site to Web directories. A Web directory (also known as a link directory) is a directory of the World Wide Web and is somewhat similar to the yellow pages in the way that it lists websites (and links to them) by category. The idea of these sites is to present links to different sites in an easy to navigate format.

A web directory is different from a search engine in that their display of links is not pulled up by keywords (the search terms you type into an engine), instead listing websites by category. The category a particular website falls into depends on its content as a whole instead of the content of just one page or by keywords. This means that a website will only come up on one or two categories. Web directories allow site owners to submit their links; from there, an editorial team decides on the appropriate category for the site.

RSS directories are somewhat similar to Web directories, but have collections of RSS feeds instead of links to websites.

 Directories in General

There are directories which are very general, listing websites of all types in one place. There are also some niche directories which list web pages only in certain languages or are targeted towards one area of interest.

One popular general Web directory is the Open Directory Project. This is one of the best known Web directories; it is well liked for its large number of categories and large amount of listings in each. The ODP is also used by search engines and even other Web directories.

People often debate the usefulness of Web directories to websites; search engines use this information (particularly ODP’s) without really incorporating any of the data. Many search engines test using clustering, making them somewhat less useful for site owners. A lot of work has gone into building a simpler directory development process, using scripts to automate the link submission process or by using PHP. Social bookmarking software for the web has also brought new ideas to the process of categorization, through tagging websites by content (think about del.icio.us and other social bookmarking applications).

Why Use Directories For More Targeted Website Traffic?

Let us suppose that a website receives only a small amount of traffic from a directory as opposed to that coming in from search engines. However, you do not necessarily need to submit links to Web directories.

Targeted website traffic is more often the result of a directory search; someone looking through directories is likely to be looking for something in particular; something which meets a specific need. This targeted traffic is far more likely to be a prospective customer than is someone who just happens upon your site accidentally.

Search engines give a ranking to website or link directories, especially those which are niche-oriented. These niche directories are more commonly run by humans rather than by computers, making them a more reliable source of information – and the links within them more credible, since they are human-evaluated.

Get Thousands of Backlinks Using Social Networking Sites

Get Thousands of Backlinks Using Social Networking Sites

Getting a high traffic website is directly tied into how easily accessible you are in the search engines. The search engines if managed correctly can turn your lackluster internet business into an overnight success. The problem that occurs when trying to get high rankings with the search engines is the competition that you will encounter for the same keywords. There are ways that you can top your competition even if several competitors are using the same keywords. The easiest and most effective way to conquer your competitors is to get more backlinks. If you are trying to find a way to increase your page rank, you will have to get thousands of backlinks. Today I will share with you some ways to generate thousands of backlinks to increase your page ranking.

The most common method of getting more backlinks to your website or blog is to research other similar websites that have high page ranks and solicit them for a reciprocal link. A reciprocal link is when you agree to add another marketer’s link on your website in return they will advertise your link. This method can be time consuming and very difficult because someone with a high page rank is usually not interested in a link exchange, especially from a lesser page rank website. If you still want to pursue this method you should send the website owner an email stating your interest in a reciprocal link and patiently wait for a response.

Forums are great sources to get thousands of backlinks. Forums are indexed by the search engines on a regular basis, so when you make a post to your favorite forum, it gets picked by the search engines. Make sure that when you sign up for a forum to leave your website or you business opportunities in your forum signature. The advantages of a creating a forum signature is, when someone clicks on a forum topic that was indexed by the search engines, they will have a direct link to your website from your forum signature. The more post you make to different topics, the more backlinks you will create to your website.

Writing articles on topics relating to your website and submitting your articles to article directories will also help to get more backlinks. The key to article writing is to write to write in a way that your audience understands; it doesn’t have to be very technical. Most newbie marketers get intimidated by this method, but it is actually one of the simplest and best producing methods you can use to get thousands of backlinks. The most popular article directories are Goarticles and Ezine articles. Before you submit your article, read their instructions carefully, they do have some guidelines that are mandatory.

Web 2.0 is the new wave that is taking the internet into the next generation of Advertising. The main ingredient of the Web 2.0 concept is social networking websites. Social networking sites are quickly becoming the most popular and effective way to get thousands of backlinks to your website. Basically Web 2.0 sites like Digg, Reddit, and Sphinn provide high pr backlinks to your website. Social networking sites are very Google friendly and you do not have to write a 500 word article to create a backlink. There are literally thousands of social networking and bookmarking sites popping up everyday. Internet marketers are taking advantage of the social marketing phenomenon by generating thousands of backlinks to their perspective sites. Currently there are bookmarking softwares that allow you post to hundreds social networking websites with just one click.

The next time you are thinking of bringing more visitors to your website or increasing your page rankings remember these methods. The internet changes everyday but core is always a constant, getting thousands of relevant backlinks to your website will always increase relevance with the search engines.
